Adam Dake
Mount Vernon
Adam Dake, 42, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Celebration of Life for family and friends will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Adam was born on February 10, 1983, to Brian and Cheryl (Becicka) Dake. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College with his AAS degree in Diesel Agriculture Tech and was currently employed with Linn County Secondary Roads. Adam was united in marriage to Cynthia See on September 19, 2015, at Saints Peter and Paul Chapel. They were blessed with one son, Wyatt.
Adam was a dedicated volunteer with the Mount Vernon Fire Department for the past twenty-one years. He loved being outdoors—hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, grilling—and spending time with his family, especially Wyatt. He cherished the family’s annual trips to Wisconsin, where Cindy, Wyatt, and Adam would take their UTV out to explore together.
Adam was always willing to lend a hand to anyone, and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He loved every animal—except horses.
Adam is survived by his wife, Cindy Dake; son, Wyatt; parents, Brian and Cheryl Dake; sister, Amanda Dake; grandma, Rosemary Dake; parents-in-law, Vicki and John See; brother-in-law, Jacob (Kayla) See, and their children, Kensley and Jackson; grandpas, Ron Bremer, Bruce Andersen, and Ronald See; dogs, Hoss, Mickey, and Rip; and cat, Nala.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond Dake, Edwin and Helen Becicka, Malinda Anderson, Patricia Hotz See, and Diane Bremer.
Memorials may be made to the Mount Vernon Fire Department or Saints Peter and Paul Chapel.
Please share your support and memories with Adam’s family on his Tribute Wall at www.stewartbaxter.com under Obituaries.
