Ada Sharon Hathaway, née Goff, 78, of Cedar Rapids, passed away February 22, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital from complications related to heart surgery. Ada was surrounded by her family at the end and, per her wishes, no services will be held. Remembrances can be made in any way that you feel would honor the spirit of her connection with you.
Born May 2, 1947, in Calumet City, IL, to George R. and Beth Anne Goff, Ada was the foundational core of her family. While she had lifelong passions for reading, learning, sewing, and gardening, her true legacy was the absolute, unconditional love she gave to those around her. She loved deeply and in return was loved and cherished just as deeply.
Ada is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mark Hathaway; her four sons, Mike, Rob, Ben, and Tom; her sister, Roberta; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
