Abbott, Ann E.
Ann E. Abbott, 63, of Beloit, Wis., died Friday, May 25, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, Wis., after a long and courageous battle with diabetes throughout her adult life.
She was born March 29, 1949, in Freeport, Ill., the daughter of William and Joan (Kraft) Godber. Ann was a graduate of Freeport High School. She married Ronald Abbott in 1968 in Rockford, Ill. Ann was employed by Bergner's, Freeman Shoe Co., and Mercy Health Systems for 15 years as a transcriptionist.
Survivors include her son, Michael Abbott of Beloit, Wis.; her mother, Joan Godber; siblings, John Godber of Las Vegas, Nev., and Steve Godber, Sue Moenck and Dave Godber, all of Cedar Rapids; longtime companion, Gabriel Berrafato of Beloit, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, and brother, Tom Godber.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, Wis., with Pastor Philip Allen officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
