Aaron "Sam" Junior Batterson, 88, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at his home. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Calling hours will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Interment with military honors will take place at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction, Iowa.
Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County and the YMCA Building Fund.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Batterson of Washington; son, Steven Batterson of Davenport; son, Jeffery Batterson and wife Christine of Washington; one granddaughter, Samantha Batterson of Cedar Falls; brother, H. Dean Batterson of Washington; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
