Aaron Litherland died Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Aaron is survived by his mother, Kathy of Monticello, who raised him; his father, Jon Litherland of Vincennes, Ind.; his horse, Rocky; a special aunt and uncle, Evelyn and Cletus Pfiffner; special uncles, Reggie and Don; and special friends, Kelly and Kyela Jones, Lisa and Jerry Hunt, Roberta and Brian Ahlrichs and Greg and Jennifer McSweeny.
Aaron Jon Litherland was born Aug. 16, 1978, in Vincennes, Ind., the son of Kathy and Jon Litherland. Aaron graduated from Evansville, Ind., High School in 1997. He and his mom moved to Monticello in 2009.
He was presently employed at Savor The Barn and the Monticello Car Wash. His registered Quarter Horse, A.J.s Stik of Dynamite - call name Rocky, was the delight and focus of his life. He received Rocky as a birthday present from Marvin Wink.
Aaron was a proud member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Monticello Eagles Club and Sons of the American Legion Post 298 in Marion.
A celebration of Aaron's life will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the #Austin Strong Foundation or Monticello Eagles Club.
Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, has been entrusted with Aaron's care.
