Cedar Rapids Washington shot its lowest team round of the season to topple Class 4A leaders Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids Prairie.
Cedar Rapids Prairie’s best finish in more than a decade under head coach Erik Columbus was fourth. The Hawks were one of four teams to break 300 at Gardner Golf Course during the MVC boys’ golf Super Meet, placing second behind Cedar Falls’ 277 performance.
Cedar Rapids Washington’s Nile Petersen was the Class 4A state runner-up in 2019. Last season, the Warriors were not represented at the fall finale. Petersen looks to finish some unsettled business.
