One of 5,500 American flags, each bearing the name of the veteran it is dedicated to with their branch of the armed forces, their time of service, and their rank are displayed on the Pentacrest at the University of Iowa in Iowa City in November 2016. The UI Veterans Association Group and Upward Bound program placed the flags, each representing a veteran with a link to the University of Iowa, in the shape of the letter 'I' in celebration of Veterans Day.
