A majority of workers voted Thursday against unionizing the Archer Daniels Midland Company railcar facility.
The plant's 46 employees voted 25 to 18 in favor of remaining non-union, according to ADM spokesman Roman Blahoski. Three votes were challenged and discounted from the total, he said.
The vote marks the second time in three years where workers rejected union represenation.
“We believe the vote signifies employees feel the company is treating them well, providing fair wages, and benefits,” Blahoski said. “And it's proof that employees think that there is good management at the facility.”
Representatives from the local Teamsters could not be reached for comment Thursday night.
