A woman was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after she lost control of her vehicle and collided with a tree Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Dubuque Street and Longview Knoll in Coralville around 2:45 p.m. for a report of a single vehicle accident with possible injuries. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle had gone off the road and hit a tree.
The driver of the vehicle, a woman whose name and age were not released, was taken to UIHC for what police said were non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the woman was heading south on Dubuque Street when her car crept into the right-hand shoulder of the road. Officers said the woman over-corrected when trying to steer back onto the street and went off the road to the east where her car struck a tree.
Officers said no one else was in the vehicle and there were no other drivers affected by the accident.
