Woman robbed outside Cedar Rapids bar
Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery outside a Cedar Rapids bar on Thursday night.
A 23-year-old woman had her purse stolen by a man around 9:36 p.m. Thursday while she was outside of Mahoney's, 1602 E Ave. NE, police said. Lt. Kelly Fitzpatrick said the man got the purse and ran from the scene.
“She had (the purse) across her, and he pulled it to the point that she fell to the ground,” Fitzpatrick said.
The woman was not injured. No weapon was displayed.
Officers who arrived used a K-9 unit dog to assist with the investigation, but no arrests had been made as of Friday morning.
A complete description of the suspect was not immediately available.
