Two people were hurt in a crash near Cedar Rapids on Monday, including a woman who had to be pulled from her car.
Two cars collided near the intersection of F Avenue and Rogers Road around 7:15 a.m. Penny Whiting, 48, of Cedar Rapids, was northbound on F Avenue when her car struck a car driven by Judith Wickman, 67, of Robins, authorities said.
Linn County Sheriff's Sgt. Joel Peshek said in a news release that Wickman had been westbound on Rogers Road when she pulled out into the path of Whiting's car.
Firefighters extricated Wickman from her car. She and Whiting were both taken to St. Luke's Hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Neither woman was listed as a patient by mid-day, a hospital spokeswoman said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, authorities said.
An investigation was continuing.
