A trash fire that spread out of control Thursday at a rural Jones County residence injured a woman and damaged the house.
Mary Gilpin, 55, was released from Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa, according to Assistant Anamosa Fire Chief Ron French.
Firefighters responding to a report of a grass fire arrived at 16771 200th Ave., about five miles north of Anamosa, about 1:15 p.m. to find the fire had spread to the home. The fire was started by tenant Wallie Lawless, 59, to burn trash.
The Red Cross was called to assist Lawless.
Fire crews from Monticello and Anamosa were called out a house fire on 200th Ave. in rural Jones County on March 31, 2011. The fire was started when a near by brush fire got out of control and moved to the house. (Erik Arendt/The Gazette)
