CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced a pair of player moves Tuesday. The parent Minnesota Twins announced another one is pending.
Outfielder J.D. Williams has been activated from the disabled list and is available to play in Tuesday night's game at Peoria. Williams is hitting .233 with 10 RBIs in 24 games.
Infielder Joel Licon has been given his unconditional release by the Twins. Licon was hitting .201 in 43 games, with eight RBIs.
The Twins said they have signed 2014 second-round draft pick Nick Burdi, and he will report the Kernels on Friday. Burdi is a right-handed relief pitcher from the University of Louisville whose fastball has reached triple digits in velocity.
