As the decade comes to a close, it's hard not to think back of all that has changed and the important moments over the past 10 years.
The floods of 2008 come immediately to mind. The economic downturn. The one-two punch Parkersburg took with the tornado in 2008 and the slaying of beloved coach Ed Thomas.
But there were good moments, too. In 2006 the University of Iowa Foundation announced it had exceeded its $1 billion goal by more than $58 million. And Old Capitol bounced back from the devastating fire in 2001.
