West guard Lane picks up Iowa State offer

IOWA CITY - Iowa City West sophomore guard Devontae Lane has picked up a scholarship offer from Iowa State, his AAU team said Tuesday.
Lane averaged 12.9 points per game this past season for the Trojans, who went 25-1 and placed third in Class 4A at the state tournament. He shot 52 percent from the field, taking only 10 3-pointers (making three).
The 6-foot-1 Lane led West with 73 steals. Classmate and backcourt mate Connor McCaffery already has committed to play for his father, Fran, at the University of Iowa.
