Weather word for the week: Dicey

After a beautiful, quiet weather weekend in Eastern Iowa, it looks like we're in for a rocky week -- starting tonight.
Temperatures are set to soar today, with highs into the middle and upper 80s and fairly muggy conditions, according to KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team Meteorologist Kaj O'Mara. Some thunderstorms will likely develop later today, probably after 5 p.m., and last into the evening and overnight.
The storms have the capability of producing damaging straight-line winds and hail, so you'll want to keep an eye out for them tonight. They're developing along a stalled front, and another round of rain is likely Wednesday. 24-hour rain totals will likely be in the 1 to 2 inch range for much of Eastern Iowa.
Then after a break Thursday, rain chances return to the forecast each day from Friday through Sunday, with the possibility of heavy rains from those storms as well.
