WATERLOO (AP) - A report finds Waterloo is the most segregated of Iowa's largest cities.
The report requested by the Waterloo Community Development Board finds that more than 62 percent of black households would need to move to a different part of Waterloo for the city to achieve full integration. The City Council received the report last week.
The report ranked Waterloo first among the 20 cities in Iowa with populations topping 25,000.
Des Moines was second and Cedar Rapids was third. Cedar Falls was 13th.
The report focused on a number of housing issues in Waterloo and Cedar Falls. It is required to keep receiving some money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
