Waterloo officers involved in fatal shooting identified

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has released the names of two Waterloo police officers involved in a fatal shooting Saturday morning.
The DCI identified officers Steven Bose and Jamie Sullivan of the Waterloo Police Department as those who were involved in the shooting. An investigation found that after attempts to subdue Eric Rule physically and with a Taser failed, Bose drew his issued weapon and fired twice at Rule.
Rule was pronounced dead at the scene, and Bose was transported to Allen Hospital for treatment.
The DCI continues to investigate the incident.
