CEDAR RAPIDS - Two Cedar Rapids high schools are among the most challenging in the country, according to an annual ranking of schools published Monday by the Washington Post.
The 'America's Most Challenging High Schools” index divides the number of college-level tests given at a school in a calendar year by the number of graduates that year.
Washington and Kennedy high schools in Cedar Rapids placed first and second in Iowa, respectively, in the ranking. They were among the top 30 percent of about 2,300 public and private schools nationwide that were included in the ranking.
Six Iowa high schools were included, including City High in Iowa City.
