Washington County anydrous ammonia leak cleared up

Residents in Washington County are hopefully waking up to a littler clear air this morning.

The County Public Safety Center says they received a 911 call of an anhydrous ammonia tank rupture around 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Sheriff's Office had to close part of County Road G36 north of Washington because of the leak.

Several residents complained of difficult breathing and burning eyes. Emergency units evacuated residents from their homes until the cloud lifted.
