AMES - Democrat Christie Vilsack, who is exploring a run for U.S. Congress in Iowa's new 4th District, announced July 14 she has raised $424,339 since April.

The new 4
th
is a 39-county district covering northwest and north central Iowa.
Vilsack, the wife of former Iowa governor and current Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, moved to Ames after the new district boundaries were approved.

King has not released his fundraising totals for the quarter. The filing deadline in July 15.
