Victim tied up in southwest Cedar Rapids burglary

Police said a 19-year-old was tied up by men who eventually stole electronics at his residence.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. Wednesday to 55 Florida Ct. SW, near Kirkwood Community College, when the incident was reported. The victim's roommates returned to find him tied up, and said he told them the intruders had just left a few minutes earlier.

Brett Jeffries, 19, told police four men came into his residence and said they were waiting for one of his roommates. Instead, they tied Jeffries up and took electronics and other items valued at $206, according to the police report. One of the men displayed a knife.

Jeffries was not hurt. Complete descriptions of the suspects were not available, but they reportedly left in a silver or gold Chevrolet Impala.

No arrests had been made by Thursday afternoon. An investigation was continuing.
