SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Prosecutors say a South Salt Lake man facing charges in the assault of his wife has been mailing letters from jail to her cat begging the woman not to testify.
Authorities say 32-year-old Ronald Charles Dallas has been ordered to have no contact with his wife, who is the alleged victim in a domestic violence case against him.
Prosecutors allege Dallas has asked her not to testify by mailing 11 letters intended for her to her cat, Molly Judge, and a neighbor.
Dallas now faces 11 counts of violation of a protective order and two counts of tampering with a witness. All are third-degree felonies and were filed Tuesday.
Trent Ricks, Dallas' court-appointed attorney in the domestic violence case, told The Associated Press he couldn't comment until speaking to his client.
