CEDAR RAPIDS - Police have identified the two people killed Saturday night in a Czech Village motorcycle accident as Courtney Jenkins and Christine Shroyer.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department said Jenkins, 27, of Cedar Rapids, was the driver of the 2002 Honda motorcycle, and Shroyer, 32, of North Liberty, was a passenger. Both died from injuries suffered in the accident, which happened around 11:20 p.m. Saturday on 16th Avenue SW.
The pair had been westbound on the 16th Avenue Bridge when Jenkins hit a speed bump and lost control of the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, while Shroyer died at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Neither was wearing a helmet.
The accident is still under investigation.
