UPDATE: Shots fired near University of Iowa

UPDATE: Iowa City Police has released a statement regarding the possible shots fired that occurred at approximately 5:13 p.m. in the area of 100 S. Linn St., Iowa City.
According to this press release, police responded to a report of the sound of gunshots and a black Toyota Camry was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Officers canvassed the area and were able to locate several people who also heard what sounded like gunshots.
As of now, no victims, damage, nor evidence has been located, according to police.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this incident. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

IOWA CITY- The University of Iowa has issued a Hawk Alert for possible shots fired at 5:25 p.m. on Saturday.
The alert states there was a report of shots fired from a black Toyota Camry with Illinois license plate in the area of Linn Street and College Street.
People are advised to avoid the area while the situation is addressed.
