The power has been restored.
MidAmerican Media Representative Ashton Hockman said the power was restored to the approximately 900 effected Iowa City customers on the MidAmerican Energy grid at 6:31 p.m.
'The cause of the outtage was due to a vehicle that hit a power pole near the intersection of Mormon Trek and West Benton Street,” Hoffman said.
Hockman said crews on the scene were able to repair the line and restore power to the affected area, mostly situated south of Melrose Avenue in Iowa City's west side.
