IOWA CITY - University of Iowa police are warning Hawkeye fans feeling festive on Halloween to be cautious about how they celebrate if they're going to the football game at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday.
In a statement Thursday, Dave Visin, interim assistant vice president and director of UI public safety, reminded fans of the following rules related to costumes at Kinnick.
' No weapons, simulated weapons, or other props are allowed.
' No authentic-looking law enforcement or security guard uniforms will be permitted.
' No authentic player or game official uniforms that could be mistaken for actual player wear will be allowed.
' No other items that pose a potential or apparent security threat to others at the game will be allowed.
'Whether or not your costume meets the safety requirements listed above is up to the sole discretion of authorized law enforcement personnel,” Visin stated.
He also noted that the game, which starts at 2:30 p.m. against Maryland, will end 'during peak trick-or-treating hours. Please use caution as you travel home.”
