MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Jim Doyle has appointed a new legal counsel to replace one who resigned after acknowledging she did not have a law license.
Doyle tapped Susan Crawford for the job on Monday.
Crawford has held a series of posts in the Doyle administration and has been working since May to implement federal stimulus programs. She will keep those duties in addition to being the governor's legal counsel.
Crawford replaces Chandra Miller Fienen, who resigned earlier this month after acknowledging she was not licensed to practice in Wisconsin.
Crawford has worked as an assistant attorney general in Wisconsin and Iowa. She graduated from University of Iowa law school in 1994 and has been admitted to practice in Wisconsin since 1997.
