Jun. 27, 2014 3:56 pm
The University of Iowa has named its new associate provost for undergraduate education and dean of the University College - Lon Moeller, currently serving as associate dean for the undergraduate program in the Tippie College of Business.
Moeller will start in his new role July 1 after Beth Ingram vacated the position to take a job as provost at North Dakota State University. In his new position, Moeller will work to 'continue to enhance the excellence of undergraduate education at the University of Iowa,” according to Executive Vice President and Provost Barry Butler.
In an email to the campus community, Butler said Moeller earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctorate law degrees from the UI and has served on the faculty in the Henry B. Tippie College of Business since 1999. He began his tenure as associate dean in the Tippie undergraduate program five years ago.
'In his role as associate dean, Lon has proven himself to be an effective leader with a deep commitment to promoting the success of undergraduate students,” according to Butler. 'I know he will do an excellent job continuing and building on Beth's work on behalf UI students, and I am grateful to him for taking on this very important role.”
