Two people arrested following early morning stabbing

Investigators in Iowa City arrested a man and a woman for a stabbing incident early Saturday morning in the downtown area.
The Iowa City Police Department said officers were called out to Washington and Gilbert Streets over a fight report involving one man with a knife.
Investigators say two groups of people exchanged words, escalating the incident. A woman used “an edged weapon” and cut one of the other people. Another male also pulled a knife and slashed another person.
Police report the people injured in the fight had non-life threatening lacerations and stab wounds.
Police identified the woman involved as Colleen M. Hogan, 19, of Iowa City. She is charged with public intoxication, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance and knowingly possessing contraband in a correctional facility.
Iowa City police say the man involved is Charles K. Phillips, 25, Iowa City. He is charged with public intoxication, assault causing bodily injury and willful injury, causing serious injury.
