There are a couple of chances for snow coming in the next few days, starting tonight.
KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team meteorologist Kaj O'Mara said today will remain fairly quiet across Eastern Iowa, but some drizzle and light snow developing in central and western Iowa will move to the east overnight, and most locations should begin to see the snow falling tonight.
Snow will continue on Friday, with most locations in line for 2 to 3 inches. And the snow will be heavy and wet, making shoveling a bit more challenging.
The system will wrap up with a few flurries on Saturday. And another system will be moving in by Sunday evening into Tuesday morning, bringing another chance for accumulating snow.
Colder weather will follow going into next week.
