Two men rob Tobacco Outlet on Mt. Vernon Road
Two men entered the Tobacco Outlet at 2846 Mount Vernon Road at around 7:44 p.m. with a gun and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
Cedar Rapids Police said that the men did not threaten the lone nighttime attendant, but that they displayed their handgun and demanded the money from the register. The two suspects wore baggy clothes and covered their faces before they entered.
The suspects are described as black males, wearing dark clothing, baggy jeans and hooded sweatshirts.
The attendant was the only person in the store with the two suspects and was not harmed in the robbery.
Officers on scene said this wasn't the first time this location had been robbed. Detectives are still investigating the robbery.
