CEDAR RAPIDS - Police said two juveniles were taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle accident Monday along First Avenue.
The cars collided around 8:30 a.m. at the corner of First Avenue and 15th Street NE, near the Road Ranger gas station. It tore the bumper off one car, and the other car stopped sideways on 15th Street NE.
Sgt. Jeff Verschoore said both juveniles had relatively minor injuries. One had a bloody nose, he said. Officers were still investigating to determine what caused the crash and if anyone would be cited.
Emergency vehicles blocked the westbound lanes on First Avenue for about 20 minutes, but with Monday being a holiday for many commuters, it did not create any traffic congestion.
