Two hurt in two-vehicle crash near Ely

Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash near Ely late Wednesday.
Rosemary E. Maresh, 87, of Ely, was turning left onto Wright Brothers Boulevard from C Street Extension around 8:30 p.m. when the accident happened, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Her vehicle was struck by a an eastbound vehicle driven by Eric A. Allard, 17, of Ely.
Maresh was taken to Mercy Medical Center and Allard went to St. Luke's Hospital, both in Cedar Rapids. Sgt. Richard Yoder said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
An investigation of the wreck continues.
