Two hurt in Highway 13 motorcycle crash

Two people were hurt today when the motorcycle they were riding overturned on Highway 13, just north of Highway 30, east of Cedar Rapids.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says Dale H. Steuer, 57, of Dubuque, was riding a motorcycle, which was pulling a trailer, northbound on Highway 13 at 10:22 a.m. today when the motorcycle slid out of control and overturned, coming to rest on the shoulder.

Steuer and a passenger, Debra D. Finn, 57, of Dubuque, were both thrown from the motorcycle. Steuer was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City by Lifeguard helicopter for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Finn was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, also for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

Steuer and Finn were both wearing helmets. The accident remains under investigation.
