Two Cedar Rapids boys struck by vehicle on First Avenue NE

Two Cedar Rapids boys were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle along First Avenue NE.
Police said Jeandarc Hayes, 41, was driving east about 4:15 p.m. when Travis Gorman, 11, and Greg Gorman 15, ran into the path of her car just west of the 32nd Street intersection. Hayes tried to avoid the boys but couldn't avoid striking them, the police report said.
The boys were taken to St. Luke's Hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. Information on their conditions wasn't released.
Hayes was not ticketed.
