PRINCIPAL RECOUNTS LAS VEGAS HORROR — Scott Kibby heard a crackling overhead. For a moment, the high school principal from Iowa City thought it was fireworks or feedback from a bad microphone on stage. 'There was a pause, and then it was just raining,' Kibby said. JUDGE UPHOLDS ABORTION LIMIT — One of Iowa's new abortion laws cleared a judicial hurdle on Monday after a Polk County district judge upheld a three-day waiting period that is now required before obtaining the medical procedure. Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and the ACLU of Iowa already have filed an appeal of the ruling and will seek a temporary injunction of the law. MARION DEATH INVESTIGATED AS HOMICIDE — The Marion Police Department is considering the death investigation of a body found at 560 Hillview Dr. a homicide, according to a news release sent Monday afternoon. According to the Linn County Jail's arraignment list, Gregory Davis is to be arraigned this morning on one count of first-degree murder.
