Truck fire kills three people near Garnavillo

Three people are dead following a vehicle fire in Clayton County. It happened at about 4:15 Sunday afternoon along Highway 52 near Jigsaw Road, south of Garnavillo.
Authorities say the vehicle left the highway and drove into a farm field before flames engulfed the vehicle. Two adults were able to escape from the vehicle and were badly burned. One adult and two children were not able to escape and died in the fire.
The names of the victims have not been released. An investigation into the fire is underway.
