The trial for a University of Iowa medical research director, who is charged with falsifying a stabbing report, was reset Tuesday to Aug. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court.
Dr. Gary Hunninghake, 63, director of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences, is charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing the false police report.
Chicago police, in May, said Hunninghake filed a report claiming he had been stabbed by three people April 24, while jogging on the Chicago Riverwalk downtown. He was taken to a hospital for his injuries, and an investigation started. Hunninghake later admitted to police he had falsified the report, according to a police report.
Hunninghake has been on paid leave from the university since April 23.
