Trial reset for Interstate 80 rest stop murder suspect

The trial for the man charged in the shooting death of a maintenance worker at an Iowa County Interstate 80 rest stop has been rescheduled.
Peter I. Riggs, 32, of Columbus, Neb. is now set to stand trial for first-degree murder in Iowa County District Court Oct. 5. His pretrial conference has also been rescheduled, and is now set for Sept. 20.
Riggs is charged in the shooting death of interstate rest stop maintenance worker Jeffrey McAdam, of Victor, on May 29 in the men's restroom. McAdams died at the scene from a single gunshot wound.
