Cleanup crews have arrived after a huge tree branch fell and damaged a car in Cedar Rapids this morning.
No one was hurt when the branch fell just before 10 a.m. near the corner of 37th Street and E Avenue NE. No one was injured, but 37th Street could be blocked for about an hour, crews said.
The branch, about 20 inches in diameter, fell from an oak tree at 529 37th St. NE. It knocked a mirror off a car parked across the street.
Witnesses who heard the crash said it was calm at the time, but storms yesterday may have weakened the branch.
