Tornado-proof safe rooms in Eastern Iowa

Across Iowa, there are 80 applications for tornado-proof safe rooms, according to the Rebuild Iowa Office.
In some cases, safe rooms are proposed as stand-alone structures. In other communities, the safe rooms, which are built of reinforced concrete walls and ceilings, are being incorporated either into existing structures or new construction.
