Tilted Kilt takes hiatus in Cedar Rapids

The lights are off at The Tilted Kilt in Cedar Rapids, although the situation could prove temporary.
Customers said the pub, at 1140 Blairs Ferry Road NE, closed over the weekend. It remained closed Monday with a sign on the door saying "Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, Cedar Rapids, is closed for new management training."
Franchisees Al and Donna Meyer opened the Scottish-themed pub in December 2008 through their Corridor Kilt LLC. It features 44 plasma screen TVs and servers attired in Scottish kilts and low-cut blouses.
Corridor Kilt is facing several lawsuits from food and beverage distributors and contractors, according to court records.
