Tiffin man dies after being struck by train

A man died early Saturday after being struck by a train in Tiffin, authorities said.
In a news release, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said it received a 911 call at 3:34 a.m. that someone had been struck by a train at the Iowa Interstate Railroad crossing at Brown Street.
There, first responders found a badly injured man and they applied life support care, but he died at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Cody Marmet, 30, of Tiffin.
Authorities said the incident is under investigation.
