WAPSIPINICON RIVER RISES IN ANAMOSA — A flood warning continued for Jones County this week as the Wapsipinicon River slowly rose to more than 20 feet Wednesday in Anamosa. VETERANS-ONLY HOMELESS SHELTER IN WORKS — Executive Director Chuck Elias said the Freedom Foundation, a not-for-profit providing services including a food pantry and clothing program for veterans, hopes to open a veterans-only homeless shelter this winter or spring. Read more: http://bit.ly/2uDSCzd
FREEMASONRY ON DISPLAY — Three centuries of Masonic history are on display in Cedar Rapids. WEST TAKES OUT WASHINGTON — They played really late, but the Iowa City West Trojans went about deciding the outcome of their Class 4A state baseball quarterfinal really early. West scored five times in the bottom of the first inning and steamrollered Cedar Rapids Washington, 12-2, in a six-inning game that didn't begin until 10:40 p.m. due to weather delays and didn't end until 12:43 a.m. Thursday.
