Three seriously hurt in Highway 30 crash near Stanwood

An 8-year-old child, a woman and a man were seriously injured and another woman was arrested after a crash near Stanwood.
The Cedar County Sheriff's Office responded to the multi-vehicle crash on Highway 30 just west of Stanwood around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies said Melissa Lohrer, 35, of Marion, crashed into a minivan driven by Heidi Techeau, 43, of Stanwood. Techeau's minivan then struck a pickup driven by Thomas Tank, 54, of Clarence.
Tank and Techeau were taken to St. Luke's Hospital with serious injuries. Eight-year-old Tempest Lohrer was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Melissa Lohrer was charged with child endangerment causing serious injuries, serious injury by vehicle, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and operating while intoxicated.
The crash remains under investigation.
