Three new principals coming to Marion schools

MARION - Marion Independent school board members this week approved the appointment of two new elementary school principals and a middle school assistant principal.

Nicole Harmer, who has been serving as an assistant principal for Emerson and Starry elementary schools, was named Emerson principal and preschool administrator.

Eric Ewald, an elementary principal in the Highland school district, was selected as Starry Elementary School's next principal.

Also, former Vernon Middle School teacher Carrie Klein will return to Vernon as an assistant principal. Klein spent the last two years as a teacher mentoring coach on loan to the Grant Wood Area Education Agency.

The Marion school board will hold a single meeting in July and two meetings in August prior to the start of fall classes on Aug. 25.
