Three injured in SE Cedar Rapids car accident
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident during rush hour today in Cedar Rapids.
The accident occurred around 5:20 p.m. when a westbound driver, trying to complete a left-hand turn from First Avenue onto Crescent Street SE, collided with an oncoming vehicle. Three of the four people inside the turning vehicle were injured and taken to St. Luke's Hospital. A police officer at the scene said all three had what appeared to non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the turning vehicle received a citation for failure to yield while making a left hand turn. Police said nobody in the other car required medical care after the collision.
Police said they were still investigating the accident.
