The three people injured in a crash involving an Iowa State Patrol trooper Wednesday night have been identified.
According to the report, state trooper Chuck McNally was driving his patrol car eastbound on county road C33 north of Waverly at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday when a westbound car driven by Eugene Walther of Waverly, turning south onto County Road V14, collided with McNally.
The area is being used as a construction detour for Iowa Highway 3. Authorities blocked the area off to traffic.
McNally and Walther were both transported to Waverly Hospital by Waverly Ambulance. Verjean Walther, a passenger in Walther's car, was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City by Air Care, the report said.
The collision is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
