Three escape Coralville apartment fire
CORALVILLE - Three people escaped safely from a second-story window after an apartment fire Tuesday night, officials say.
Firefighters were called to 306 Sixth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on a report of smoke and fire at the building. Police officers on scene said smoke forced three people, including a baby, to escape from a second-story window.
Multiple ambulances were called to the scene to check on those who escaped, although police said there didn't appear to be any injuries.
Coralville Fire Chief Dave Stannard said it's not yet clear what caused the fire.
